How does a nation rebuild itself after a devastating earthquake?
How does a nation cope with 9,000 deaths, 500,000 destroyed homes, tens of thousands rendered homeless—all at a stroke, as it were?
How does its people live in the days after?
Aftershock Nepal is about the aftermath of the April 25 earthquake, a modest attempt to chronicle a troubling period in a nation’s history. Our aim is to capture the voices of ordinary people, voices that would otherwise be unheard—and through such everyday stories, by bearing witness, we hope to play a small part in chronicling the rebuilding of Nepal.
